“The ultimate cafe racer. This one has an incredible patina and has all the allure of faded jeans and Lewis Leathers jackets.” -Adam Lindemann

Ducati’s 750 Sport, one of the most collectible and beautiful motorcycles ever built, was based on the Fabio Taglioni-designed 750 GT, Ducati’s first bevel-drive twin. The upgraded Sport model featured a lighter crankshaft, high compression pistons, and larger 32 mm carburetors, resulting in exceptional all-around performance. It also featured more aggressive styling, clip-on racing-style handlebars, a solo seat, and a now-iconic yellow and black color scheme. Since production ceased, the 750 Sport has become one of the most sought-after road-going Ducatis of all time and no serious collection of Italian motorcycles would be complete without one. These motorcycles are generally considered to be some of the most attractive ever built with near-perfect proportions, sensuous lines, and vibrant, eye-catching colors.

According to an accompanying report prepared by motorcycle historian Ian Falloon, this 750 Sport is one of 200 US-market examples built in 1974. These Sports possess several features shared with the ultra-exclusive 750 Super Sport “Green Frame,” including high-crowned rocker covers, polished aluminum alloy outer engine cases, and higher ratio (32/70) primary gears.

Previously owned by Ducati enthusiast Mark Cooper, this 750 Sport has been a feature in the Adam Lindemann Motorcycle Collection for nearly 10 years. Presented in largely unrestored condition, the Ducati displays a wonderfully charismatic patina and its odometer showed 14,382 miles at the time of cataloguing. Significantly, Mr. Falloon’s report notes that this 750 Sport retains its factory-applied crankcase seal, as well as many correct components and accessories including the Ceriani front fork, Verlicchi headlight clamps, Dell’Orto carburetors, Conti mufflers, Veglia instruments, and CEV taillight.

750 Sports that have survived in unrestored condition rarely appear for sale, making this an exciting opportunity to acquire an important piece of Ducati history and experience first-hand the engineering genius of Fabio Taglioni, one of the world’s greatest motorcycle designers.
