Lucio Perinotto was born in Bordeaux, France in 1947 to Italian parents. After studying at art school, he became a full-time professional artist in the early 1970s and has concentrated on aeronautical subjects for most of his career. Fascinated by the ambience of hydroplanes and high-speed flight, by the 1940s and 1950s, his work was regularly featured on the cover of the French aviation magazine Le Fana de l’Aviation. Widely collected by aviation enthusiasts, his work can be found in numerous private, public, and corporate collections, including Air France, The Musée de l’Air in Paris, and EADS – European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, manufacturers of the Airbus.
