According to records on file, this gleaming, Light Ivory 911 S was purchased new by John Karbin of Lompoc, California, and it is most fortunate that he retained ownership until his passing in 2013. Honed by a stint in the Navy, and later as an engineer, Mr. Karbin was the ideal Porsche customer, an organized and meticulous man who took fastidious care of his prized, top-of-the-line Porsche. Within the car’s manual folio is a handwritten record of each service, and indeed every tank of gas that the car took on, beginning in September of 1974, and extending through 2007, when the car registered just over 110,000 miles. An engine rebuild is noted at 108,000. Another handwritten graph chronicles further fluid changes, maintenance, and adjustments.

The Porsche was kept and driven by Mr. Karbin’s wife until 2021, when it passed to another devotee who replaced dozens of soft rubber parts and hardware throughout the car, achieving an outstanding overall presentation. A pair of sport seats with Pepita inserts have been added for increased comfort and side bolstering. Underneath, each component has been expertly cleaned or refinished as necessary and appears as well kept as the top side of the car. This Porsche stands above most others due to the knowledgeable care it received, and its consistent and respectful enjoyment in an ideal climate by one couple for over 50 years. We encourage your close inspection of this special 911.
