For the 2021 model year, BMW’s full-size G07 X7 SUV received the Alpina treatment. The X7 M50i’s 4.4-liter V-8 gained larger twin-scroll turbochargers, additional cooling capacity, a less-restrictive exhaust, and an ECU upgrade. Developing 612 hp and 590 lbs./ft. of torque, the engine was mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with a recalibrated electronically variable limited-slip differential on the rear axle. Other changes included revised suspension tuning, Alpina “Turbine” wheels, and distinguishing cosmetic trim.
