This 1957 Austin-Healey 100/6 BN4 represents an exceedingly rare opportunity to acquire a low-mileage, highly original, unrestored example of the revered Big Healey.
According to its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate on file, this Austin-Healey was built on March 19, 1957, and finished in Healey Blue over a blue interior. It was well optioned with wire wheels, overdrive, laminated windshield, heater, mph speedometer, and US-specification lights. Upon completion at the factory, it was shipped to Los Angeles, California before being sold to Peggy Sue Smith on June 19, 1957, via Sheward Motor Co. Inc. in Pittsburg, Kansas. Ms. Smith would own and cherish the Austin-Healey for the next 54 years. On May 19, 2011, Ms. Smith passed the car onto its next caretaker, Greg Pawluk, at which time it had traveled just 15,606 miles. The following month, on June 26th, the Big Healey was honored with Bloomington Gold’s ZZenith® Preservation Award, at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, Illinois. Having attained a perfect score, the car was designated one of the best-preserved collector cars in the world.
The sensational Healey is accompanied by an owner’s handbook, ZZenith® Award paperwork, documentation, and a spare set of wheels and tires. For the astute collector, this moment in time cannot be overstated as there may not be another Austin-Healey 100/6 BN4 of this caliber in the world presented at auction.
