Alfa Romeo introduced the Giulietta Sprint at the 1954 Torino Motor Show. Designed by Franco Scaglione of Bertone, the handsome 2+2 coupe was technically advanced for the period and featured an independent front suspension, live rear axle, and coil springs with hydraulic dampers at all four corners. Powered by an alloy 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts delivering power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox, the fine-handling Sprint was capable of a lofty 102 mph even in standard form.

According to correspondence from Automobilismo Storico Alfa Romeo on file, this early production Giulietta Sprint was completed by the factory on March 14, 1956, and subsequently sold to US importer Hoffman Motors in New York. The Alfa Romeo returned to Italy in 2002, where it was owned by specialist Paolo Bergia in Pinerolo, before being sold back to a private collector in the US in 2017. Refinished in original Rosso (Red) and featuring gray cloth upholstery, the Giulietta retains its desirable “pre-series” features including smaller headlights and taillights, as well as a column-mounted shifter and under-dash starter lever.

Now equipped with Borrani wire wheels, this beautifully restored example is accompanied by an owner’s manual, tools, jack, and spare tire. A desirable early model eligible for many classic driving events worldwide including the Mille Miglia, this Giulietta Sprint is an outstanding example of one of the great Alfa Romeo models.
