The Austin-Healey 3000 series quickly became a hit among enthusiasts when it entered production in 1959. Offering a more powerful engine than the previous 100/4 series, it was aimed at the American market while still maintaining its traditional British design. Along with its gorgeous styling, the roadster was also successful in rallying and racing, proving itself as a tremendously capable sports car. Five years after the original 3000 was released, Austin-Healey debuted the Mk III, which offered a potent 150 hp six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. It featured a luxurious cockpit, with burled walnut dashboard trim and roll-up side windows. The final-production-year "Big Healey" represents the epitome of the open-top British sports car, and this example is no exception.

Built in early spring 1967, this late-model Phase II Mk III BJ8 was originally finished in striking metallic Golden Beige, according to its BMIHT Certificate on file, making it one of just 553 examples to leave the factory in this desirable color. This Austin-Healey benefits from a comprehensive restoration completed approximately 20 years ago by the award-winning marque specialist Fourintune of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Maintained by knowledgeable collectors since, the BJ8 still presents beautifully and is appropriately outfitted with Lucas driving lamps, a Mike Lempert wood-rimmed steering wheel, owner's manual, jack, and tool kit. Featuring a new cloth-wiring loom, stainless exhaust system, and rebuilt carburetors, this Mk III is ready to show, tour, and enjoy.
