The 993 was the last generation of Porsche 911 to be powered by an air-cooled engine. Built during the short span of 1994 to 1998, technical advances over the outgoing 964 included a new six-speed manual transaxle and multi-link Weissach rear axle to improve handling. Several derivative models were developed, including an all-wheel-drive Carrera 4S which shared the Turbo's wider body shell, but was powered by the standard 3.6-liter flat-six.
One of 937 examples exported to North America for the 1997 model year, this Porsche 993 Carrera 4S is finished in Arena Red Metallic over a cashmere leather and black interior. Additional options listed on a copy of the window sticker on file included an AM/FM radio with CD player, sport chassis, Motorsound package, rear window wiper, and desirable hardback sport seats. Sold new through Carrera Motors in Bend, Oregon, this car would pass through just two owners before being acquired by Rudy Mancinas in 2011. Similar to others from his collection, this 993 features tasteful personalization such as Bilstein HD shocks, lightweight flywheel and sport clutch, Turbo S brake ducts with integrated driving lights, and a 996 three-spoke steering wheel.
This Carrera 4S showed under 35,000 miles at the time of cataloguing, and is accompanied by books, tools, keys, jack, spare, copy of the window sticker, and receipts. Well maintained within Rudy Mancinas' collection, this rare, low-mileage 993 is ready for further adventures.
