The Definitive Luxury Motor Car of the 1980s
Final Year of the First-Generation Corniche Convertible
Classic Color Scheme of Old English White over Cream Leather
Immaculately Detailed and Offered from the Stable of a Meticulous Private Collector
Offered with Tools, Jack, and CARFAX Vehicle History Report

Introduced in 1971 and named for a glamorous stretch of road along the French Riviera, the Rolls-Royce Corniche represented the height of automotive luxury throughout its remarkable 24-year production run. Initially offered in both Coupe and Convertible forms, with coachwork by Mulliner Park Ward, the Corniche was powered by an alloy-block 6.75-liter V-8 engine coupled with a smooth-shifting automatic transmission.

The handsome Corniche presented here is a superb European-specification Convertible from the final year of first-generation production. As such, this car benefits from myriad improvements over the earliest models, including Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, rack-and-pinion steering, and numerous cosmetic upgrades such as color-keyed bumpers, headlight wipers, and auxiliary Lucas driving lights.

Finished in the classic combination of Old English White over cream Connolly hides, this Corniche Convertible was imported into the US in 1993, federalized by European Car Center in California, and then registered to an owner in Michigan. In 1995, a resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, acquired the Rolls-Royce and retained it until 2018, when it was sold to a local dealer. The consignor, a prominent Southern California-based collector, added the Corniche to his impressive stable of classics in summer 2019.

Under the consignor’s meticulous ownership, the Corniche has been treated to a comprehensive professional detailing process and the result is truly stunning. Every aspect of the car presents in near concours-quality condition. The paint and brightwork are superb, and the interior is beautifully finished, with outstanding leather, carpeting, and burlwood trim. The stereo system is a period McIntosh unit, an incredibly expensive feature in its day.

Consistent with its fastidious presentation, the Corniche is offered with a tool kit, jack, spare assembly, and a CARFAX vehicle history report. At the time of cataloging, the odometer displayed just over 13,200 miles, a figure that is supported by a signed affidavit on file.

An undisputed icon of 1980s luxury motoring, magnificently and ideally finished in the definitive color scheme, this Rolls-Royce Corniche would be the perfect addition to a Beverly Hills or Palm Beach motor court.
