A Rare Opportunity to Acquire a 328 with Such Low Mileage from Its Original Owner
The well-received and popular Ferrari 308 series was replaced in 1985 by the evolutionary 328. Pininfarina updated and smoothed the outgoing car’s styling, with the most obvious changes being a new front grille, form-fitting body-colored bumpers, and concave five-spoke wheels. The interior gained modernity without sacrificing style, and was given new seats, dashboard, door panels, and controls. The mid-mounted, four valve per cylinder V-8 engine was enlarged to 3.2 liters, pushing horsepower to 260 in US-production cars. 0–60 mph dropped to 5.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of circa 160 mph.
Finished in classic Red over a Beige leather interior, this US-specification 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS was purchased new by the consignor and remained in his care ever since. Preserving it as a collector piece, he has driven it less than 900 miles, only taking it out for short drives on nice days, generally once a month during the warmer seasons. This GTS remains in highly original and well-kept condition and it received a major engine service, including timing belts, as well as a major interior and exterior detail at Continental AutoSports in 2006. At the time, the car had just 240 miles on the odometer. The 328 has also received additional service from 2012–2020, with its low mileage documented on the receipts. The work included a recharged AC system, new fan belt, tire rotation, new battery, new plugs, fuel filter and air cleaner, and detailing. The engine cover was also recently repainted to correct a few imperfections and a small airbrushed touch-up was made just above the front bumper to correct a scratch.
Accompanied by a manual, tools, and spare tire, this 328 GTS is one of the lowest mileage examples to come to market in years, and is especially desirable as it is offered by its original owner.
