It is easy to see why Car and Driver stated that the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione “just might be the ultimate two-seater GT.” It has the best of all worlds: a Ferrari-derived 4.7-liter engine, a Maserati chassis, and exotic carbon fiber bodywork designed by Wolfgang Egger. This fusion of superb engineering was meticulously assembled in Modena at the Maserati factory, and each car was individually test-driven by Alfa Romeo engineers. Production began in 2007 and was purposely limited to 500 units with 84 allocated for America – each one pre-sold.
This 8C Competizione was previously a part of the Riverside International Automotive Museum, as a part of Doug Magnon’s extensive collection of sports and racing cars. While in Magnon’s collection, it was used occasionally and kept in pristine condition before the collection was sold in 2016. At the time of cataloguing, the car still only had under 3,700 miles on the odometer, and it remains in outstanding condition. Optioned with Competition Red metallic paint, red brake calipers, fitted luggage, factory floor mats, and full-grain black braided leather with red stitching, this 8C is an extremely attractive example and has been maintained by collectors over the years. Included with the car is its fitted luggage with their covers, owner’s folio, and tool kit.
