This lovely child’s car version of the iconic pontoon-fender Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa was made by engineer Claude Boutin in the 1990s. An automotive and aeronautical engineer, Mr. Boutin has produced over 14 of these functioning models and devoted 5,500 hours to building the first one. Bodied in fiberglass, the car is equipped with a 5 horsepower Honda engine mounted in the front, with independent suspension and hydraulic brakes. The interior is complete with instrumentation, bucket seats, carpeting, and a shifter. It is stated to be able to achieve speeds of up to 43 miles per hour. Showing a gentle patina, this child’s car would be a lovely addition to any collection, big or small.
