An exceptional collection of correspondence, sales literature, photographs, blueprints, and invoices documenting the relationship between Italian sports car manufacturer Automobili OSCA and the company’s official US agent, Luigi Chinetti Motors. Dating from the late-1950s through the mid-1960s, the contents of this collection relate to a variety of subjects, including race preparation, transportation, parts orders, car sales, prospective clients, and even official entry documents for the Paris Motor Show. Several different OSCA models are covered – from single-seat Formula Jr. and sports racing cars to the final 1600 GT road cars – many listed by chassis number. In particular, the correspondence – including many typed and handwritten letters – provide a fascinating, intimate insight into a halcyon era of the exotic automobile business.
