This remarkable and rare photo album consists of 88 original black and white photographs depicting the 1954 Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix season and the incredible W196 Streamliner, which helped propel Juan Manuel Fangio to the title that year. The album was purchased by the consignor about five years ago from a friend, who is the grandson of the photographer, Hanns-Dietrich Reinelt. According to his grandson, Reinelt was an official Daimler-Benz photographer who followed the team throughout the 1954 season. Reinelt later became a motivational speaker for the company.

Reinelt’s Daimler-Benz business card also accompanies the sale and bears signatures from the legendary Mercedes-Benz drivers of that year, including Juan Manuel Fangio, Hermann Lang, and Karl Kling, along with influential team manager Alfred Neubauer.

The photographs not only depict racing scenes, but racing preparations and candid moments of the drivers, particularly Juan Manuel Fangio.
