One of the most innovative automakers of all time, Lancia introduced the first complete automotive electrical system, monocoque chassis, five-speed gearbox, and the first production V-4 and V-6 engines. Successful in racing as well, it was with the Fulvia that Lancia returned to motor sports after its withdrawal from Formula 1 in 1955. This time, the firm focused on rallying, and the Fulvia won the Italian Rally Championship every year from 1965 to 1973, except 1970, and won the International Championship for Manufacturers in 1972.
This gorgeous Fulvia from 1971 is a Series II example that features updated styling as well as a five-speed transaxle and larger Girling disc brakes. As a desirable 1.3 S model, it is fitted with a 1,300 cc narrow-angle V-4 engine producing about 90 hp. This example was imported to the US from Italy in about 2017 and has since benefited from new paint as well as mechanical attention whenever needed during its current enthusiast ownership.
