An Incredible Jaguar from a Loving Home
Jaguar introduced its XJ model line in 1968. The classic design would be produced for the next 24 years with only minor revisions, a testament to the inherent quality of the model. Utilizing a 4.2-litre inline six-cylinder engine and fully independent suspension, the XJ-6 was the most luxurious and capable Jaguar yet. Its ride quality and coddling interior fitments were a hit with consumers. Nearly 100,000 examples of the XJ Series I were built between 1968 and 1973, including the stunning 1972 model offered here.
This impeccable XJ-6 sedan is a rare example that has seen loving care from new and currently shows just over 54,000 miles. During Blake Nordstrom’s ownership, the Jaguar has always received diligent care, including new paint in 2015, an engine and transmission rebuild in 2017, and front seat upholstery and new carpets in 2018, among many other items. Much of this work is documented by invoices in the car’s file, which also contains an XJ-6 brochure and paperwork pertaining to the car’s purchase.
It is exceedingly rare to find an early Jaguar XJ-6 in such wonderful condition, especially in the US. Whether a Jaguar aficionado or someone who simply admires the quality and style that the XJ-6 exudes, the next owner of this car is likely to find themselves charmed by its lovely presentation.
