A Truly Outstanding Example of Toyota’s Legendary and Iconic Off-Roader

The Land Cruiser traces its origins to 1951 as a mobility vehicle for Japan’s National Police Reserve. Through almost seven decades and thousands of variations, the Land Cruiser has sold more than 10 million examples, setting the benchmark for durability, reliability, and off-road capability.

For 1960, the Land Cruiser was redesigned and upgraded. While not dissimilar in appearance to its predecessor, the fourth-generation FJ40 featured more rectangular arches, a bezel framing the headlamps and radiator grille, and folding jump seats in the cargo area. Mechanically, the FJ40 received an enlarged engine and low-range gearing.

This 1967 Toyota FJ40 is a desirable two-door, soft-top model finished in period-correct 6L4 Light Olive over a coral interior. It was the recipient of an approximately 1,000-hour nut-and-bolt restoration completed in 2020 by a Land Cruiser specialist with over 25 years of experience. It features an assortment of the best components, selected with safety and drivability in mind, from the over two decades of FJ40 production, including an uprated 4.2-liter 2F inline six-cylinder engine, H42 four-speed synchronized gearbox, and power front disc brakes. Modernized, non-Toyota components include electric power steering, Old Man Emu suspension, and a new exhaust system. Accompanied by a detailed restoration summary and photos, this stunning example is ready for its next adventure.
