This Ferrari F50 is one of just 349 built between 1995 and 1997, and one of just 55 examples imported for sale in the US. Powered by a 4.7-liter, naturally aspirated, V-12 engine developed from Ferrari’s 641 Formula 1 car of 1990, the F50 was the third model in the automaker’s line of iconic supercars that started with the 288 GTO in 1984. The F50’s removable hardtop combined with its 513 bhp V-12 engine and manually shifted six-speed transaxle offer an unmatched, open-air driving experience and the F50 is the last Ferrari model to offer this classic combination of attributes.
According to an accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report, the first owner of this F50 was a Texas resident who acquired the Ferrari in 1996. By 2002, the subsequent owner was searching for a US-spec F50 painted in Ferrari’s spectacular shade of silver called Argento Nürburgring (Nürburgring Silver). Failing to find the desired color combination, he purchased this F50, which was originally painted Rosso Corsa (Racing Red), from Ferrari of Houston. Maintaining his desire to have a silver F50, he asked the selling dealer to repaint the car in Argento Nürburgring, which was completed shortly after purchase.
The subsequent years have seen careful and regular use of the F50, which was enjoyed as an integral part of the family’s wonderful collection of vintage and modern sports cars. The F50 has received diligent care, including service and repair work performed by Lake Forest Sportscars, Ferrari specialist John Hajduk, and a recent comprehensive service by Continental AutoSports in November 2019. During the service, an attempt was made to repair the F50’s inoperable fuel-level gauge, however a fuel-level sender was not available from Ferrari.
Accompanied by tools, manuals, luggage, hardtop storage box, car and seat covers, as well as various service and repair invoices, this lovely US-spec F50 showed just 10,125 miles at the time of cataloguing. A very rare and desirable Ferrari supercar from a loving home, this F50 stands ready to bring its exotic and rare qualities to a new owner, who will in turn become the steward of one of Ferrari’s most iconic models.
*Please note that this vehicle will not be sold for use or resale in California or to a non-dealer California resident.
