With the 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 as its inspiration, Porsche introduced the 964 Carrera RS in 1992 for the European market. As with its forebear, the European Carrera RS featured a revised suspension and a lighter curb weight via the deletion of the rear seats and air-conditioning. For the 1993 and 1994 model years, Porsche answered the pleas of American enthusiasts by introducing the 911 RS America.
Based on the Carrera 2, the RS America featured a whale-tail spoiler, stiffer suspension, Cup-style wheels, and the deletion of the sunroof, power steering, air-conditioning, rear seats, armrests, and the audio system, several of which could be added back in as options.
One of just 701 RS Americas built, this 1994 example has been a part of a significant private collection since 2012 that features only the best and most desirable 911 examples. Simply stunning in brilliant Guards Red with black cloth sport seats, this 964 RS America has been very sparingly used, displaying under 5,200 miles. This fantastic example is desirably optioned with air-conditioning and is accompanied by books, tools, and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The RS is further documented by service records attesting to the care it has received.
Porsche enthusiasts who have been searching for an exceptional 964 RS America should take note, as this example makes a truly stellar presentation.
